Work in progress

Yesterday, September 22nd, marked the official first day of autumn, signalling the start of falling rain, temperature, leaves, and spirits. Nights are drawing in and soon, the waking day will be bookmarked by dark mornings and darker evenings. With the holiday season still a quarter of the year away, doom and gloom abound.

So, what comes to our rescue? Hallowe’en, of course!

In the creative hiatus following the launch of The Connickle Conundrum, I have grasped the opportunity to take a step sideways and write the first in a series of short stories based around two new characters that are introduced in Book Two of the ABC Chronicles trilogy. Whilst I remain committed to publish Book Two in late 2023, I hope to write most of the stories for a fourth book, set during and after the events in the trilogy, by the time Book Three is completed.

As the story recounts the events on All Hallows Eve, 1895, my aim is to complete the first part of this short story before Hallowe’en this year. News of where to find this early draft will be announced in a future blog.

So, watch this space…
