2022 Media appearances

Some of the more enjoyable experiences of 2022 were my contributions to local community radio station AllFM(96.9).

Just prior to the release of The Connickle Conundrum, I was fortunate to be approached for an interview for The Sunday Tea Show with Nat and Ruth. The interview was recorded on the Thursday before broadcast on the following Sunday. What Ruth and I didn’t know when we were recording the interview, was that the announcement of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was made. Following her death, broadcast content had to be vetted, with frivolous or disrespectful items cancelled or postponed for broadcast at a later date..

Thankfully, our interview was broadcast as scheduled. You can listen to it here.

Following further conversations with Ruth from AllFM(96.9), I wrote and recorded exclusive content for The Sunday Tea Show Hallowe’en Special which was broadcast on Sunday, October 30. The short gothic horror story is set three years after the events of The Connickle Conundrum and is the first part of a short story to be published in an anthology planned for publication after the conclusion of the ABC Chronicles trilogy.

You can listen to the short story, together with fabulous content from talented writers, here.

In November 2022, Ruth tweeted a request for Christmas poetry or ghost stories for a compilation to be broadcast on Christmas Day. Again, I wrote and recorded exclusive content which was selected for inclusion in the second hour of the show.

You can listen to the exclusive story, along with poetry and Christmas music selections, here.

I am grateful to Ruth for her interest in my writing journey and for the opportunity to make contributions for the enjoyment of the local community of South Manchester. The dedicated volunteers and professionals of local community radio provide a valuable and popular service.
