C’mon, brain…

To have a break from brainstorming and plotting the second book in the trilogy, I decided to re-visit a hastily written Prologue and ‘re-visit’ soon tuned into re-write!

My zero draft Prologue was written as an exercise a few months ago to recharge the creative batteries after many weeks of edits on the first book, prior to passing the manuscript to my editor. Whilst I enjoy the the editing process, it isn’t ‘writing’; it isn’t ‘creating’; it’s correcting, polishing, detailing - like a teacher grading his/her own work.

Handing the manuscript to my editor in April was a milestone reached, but in the dog days of late April and early May that followed, plotting was becoming a slog. So re-working the Prologue seemed the perfect pick-me-up. Well, as it turns out, the mental gymnastics of yoyoing from editing to writing back to editing through brainstorming to plotting then writing again, has caused a brain-burp!

So, while I’m waiting for my head to figure out which way is up, I thought I would spend a few minutes blogging my progress, or lack thereof!

Now it’s time to get back to work - Are you ready, brain? Little grey cells, start your engines…
