Whitby Steampunk Weekend
It has been almost a month since we attended the Whitby Steampunk Weekend, held on 23rd and 24th July 2022. In the glorious east coast sunshine, folk paraded in splendid Victorian Steampunk styles ranging from colourful, eccentric to dark, gothic, through the old town’s narrow streets and wide promenades. Whether high couture or home made chic; lifestylers or cosplayers, all proudly paraded their creations and were happy to pose for photographs.
Most of the events centred around Whitby Pavilion Exhibition Halls where the Steampunk Retail Emporium was set out over two floors. Clothing, millinery, corsetry, clocks, accessories; brocade, silk, leather, brass, everything pertaining to Steampunk and Victoriana were available. So naturally, we spent far too much time perusing the stalls in awe.
Because publication of The Connickle Conundrum is approaching fast, work over the last few weeks has been focussed on tweaking and polishing, hence the absence of blogs. My cover artist, Rena, has been creating concepts for interior formatting and is applying the final design this week, to be finalised by Friday, 19th August, Once I have received the finished article, I will announce the cover reveal and publication dates over the weekend.
In the meantime, writing is well underway on the first draft of the second book in the trilogy, with the ten thousand words hurdle crossed yesterday, 16th August 2022. But the main focus is preparing The Connickle Conundrum for release. Watch out for more news over the coming days…
